Wooden Runes The magic of the oak is revered in Wiccan tradition. Made from natural oak branches, these wooden runes still have the bark on them. Each rune is specially burnt with the Witches' symbol, with 8 runes in each set. Only natural stain, (linseed oil) is used to cure the runes, no varnish or unnatural substances. The oak is tempered by the elements of fire, water, earth, air, and time. Each set of runes is cut from the same branch in order to assure continuity. Each rune is burned into the wood NOT stamped.
